Join us for our 25th annual Paws in the Park event on Sunday, May 4th from 10am-3pm at Longfellow's Wayside Inn in Sudbury.  Rain or shine, this is the place to be for dog and family fun!  65+ vendor and rescue booths, food court, raffle/silent auction booth, dog agility ring, doggy games, kids games and face painting, Save A Dog retail booth, bake sale booth, music and FUN.  Join in our pledge walk at 11am, led by WBZ Channel 4 News Anchor Anna Meiler!  Our adoptable dogs parade at Noon will feature dogs from our participating rescue organizations.  Meet Trax, the Worcester Railers Hockey Club mascot at 12:30.  For more information, go to www.saveadog.org.  Don't miss this awesome event!!

In 1935, Sinclair Lewis looked at the situation in Europe and the popularity of Louisiana politician Huey Long, and published a novel, It Can’t Happen Here, a cautionary tale on authoritarianism and the rise of fascism in America.&nbsp;A year later, Lewis and John Moffitt adapted the novel into a play with the same title.&nbsp;Since then, a reading version of the play, first created for radio, has been developed.
This reading of the First Act is open to the public, and admission is free. There will be a guided discussion following the reading.

Spirits of Maynard Hosts Complimentary Wine and Beer Tasting for the Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable’s Shower for Safety
The Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable cordially invites the public to a free wine and beer tasting to support its annual Shower for Safety. The wine and beer tasting will be held at Spirits of Maynard, Plaza, 4 Digital Way, Suite 3, Maynard, MA on Friday evening, May 1, 2026, 6:00-8:00 PM. Light refreshments will be provided by the Roundtable. There will also be a brief presentation by a survivor. 
Please bring a new, unwrapped housewarming gift to the event. Families transitioning from shelters appreciate gifts of new household items to help them establish their new homes. These generous donations will be collected and given to the clients of area Domestic Violence Programs who will be setting up new homes.
Requested items include: twin size sheets and pillowcases, twin blankets, twin comforters, bed pillows, bath towels and face cloths, unscented cleaning products and laundry detergent, laundry baskets, kitchen utensils, flatware, dishes, drinking glasses, and small kitchen appliances.
 Gift cards for Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreen’s, Market Basket, Hannaford and Stop and Shop gift cards($10-$50) are also welcome.

In celebration of America250, the Sudbury Historical Society (SHS) will proudly present the Sudbury Witness House Tour on Saturday, May 2nd!
Experience some of the oldest homes in Sudbury that witnessed 1776: the momentous year of the ratification of the United States Declaration of Independence and one that recalls the town spirit in Sudbury through its famous 01776 zip code.
The Sudbury Witness House Tour will begin at the first stop: the Loring Parsonage. The home was built for Reverend Israel Loring (1682-1772), stood through the American Revolution, and is now the home of the Sudbury History Center and Museum. All are invited to join Brad Saylor in learning Maypole dances and Tom Kruskal and the Hopbrook Morris dancers! There is no fee to attend this program. Free parking is available behind Sudbury Town Hall (322 Concord Rd, Sudbury)
Maypole dancing is a centuries-old tradition celebrated on May Day. It is believed to have started in Roman Britain around 2000 years ago, when soldiers celebrated the arrival of spring by dancing around decorated trees, thanking their goddess Flora. These days, dancers weave ribbons around a pole rather than a tree, celebrating the arrival of spring.
