SUDBURY, MA — The operator of the town-owned Camp Sewataro will bring back a public music festival this summer.

The second Sounds of Summer at Sewataro festival will take place on June 16, about a week before the camp opens its day programs for the summer.

This year's festival will be slightly shorter than the inaugural event held in 2021. The festival will run for about four hours beginning at 4 p.m. Neither the camp nor the town immediately announced a lineup of musicians or other attractions.

The 2021 festival ran for a full day on a Saturday, starting in the morning with music for children, switching to a Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School alternative rock band in the afternoon, and a jazz singer in the evening. Trombetta's Ice Cream truck was stationed at the event throughout the day.

Town voters elected to buy the property in 2019 for $11 million. Following the purchase, the town hired Camp Sewataro LLC to oversee the property and run the camp.
