The Globe states that the forum is an opportunity for residents and METCO community members to discuss issues related to the METCO program. This is incorrect. The families of Lincoln, Sudbury and Boston METCO students were all invited because we share a high school and there may be topics of interest to us all.
The purpose of the Tri-District School Committee Forum is to provide an opportunity for citizens to share thoughts on what is of interest for possible collaboration among the three school communities. There will be short presentations on the topics of school start times, social and emotional supports for families, and ways to give students authentic experiences in civic engagement.

The presentations will then be followed by small-group brainstorming opportunities for the public to provide other subjects of interest or ideas that they would like to pursue. The forum will conclude with a joint school committee meeting. The plan is to host another public forum in the spring that will provide further information on the subjects and ideas that were generated at this meeting.
