Court Denies Appeal from Tarek Mehanna, Sudbury Man Convicted of Terrorism
The Supreme Court decided to let the conviction stand.

Justices made no comments on Monday after rejecting Tarek Mehanna’s appeal of his terrorism conviction, which lead to a 17 1/2 year prison sentence, reported the Boston Herald.
U.S. Attorney MA, @DMAnews1, tweeted that “The U.S. Supreme Court upholds Tarek Mehanna’s 2012 conviction on terrorism related charged by declining to take his appeal.”
Mehanna, who is from Sudbury, argued that his online activity was free speech. He was convicted of terror charges on four counts, and prosecutors said he was promoting violent jihad online.
