It's not to early to mark your calendar for important school dates.

It’s a holiday weekend, and sitting at a desk taking notes is the last thing on students’ minds. But the start of the new school year will be here before you know it, and below are some important dates for the Sudbury Public Schools.
- Aug. 19, new teacher orientation
- Aug. 20, new teacher orientation
- Aug. 25, staff returns
- Aug. 26, professional day
- Aug. 27, professional day
- Aug. 28, elementary students new to sudbury orientation, 11 a.m.
- Aug. 28, middle school students new to sudbury orientation, 9 a.m.
- Sept. 1, first day of school for grades K-8
- Sept. 1, preschool orientation
- Sept. 2: First day of school for all other students
- Sept. 4, no school
- Sept. 8, 9th grade parents night, 7-9 p.m., high school auditorium
- Sept. 10, Loring open house
- Sept. 14, Rosh Hashanah, no school
- Sept. 16, back to school night, 7-9 p.m., high school auditorium
- Sept. 17, Haynes open house
- Sept. 21, Noyes open house
