Driver of Car in Head-On Collision With School Bus Dies
The woman who was driving the car and crashed into a bus on Wednesday afternoon in Sudbury has died.

SUDBURY, MA — A woman involved in a head-on crash with a schoolbus Wednesday afternoon in Sudbury has died.
Patricia Metz, age 73, of Sudbury was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston following the collision where she later succumbed to her injuries, reports Sudbury police and Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.

Police and fire departments responded around 3:46 p.m. on Wednesday to a head-on crash involving a school bus and a car on Concord Road near Plympton Road in Sudbury.
Officers and firefighters found Metz trapped inside her Cadillac sedan, and she had to be extricated with the jaws of life. She was transported by the Sudbury Fire Department to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston with serious injuries.

The school bus was carrying approximately 25 students and two coaches from the Algonquin Regional High School girls' rugby team.
None of the students were seriously injured, but nine students between the ages of 15-18, and the bus driver, a 43-year-old Hudson woman, sustained minor injuries and were taken to MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham and Emerson Hospital in Concord. Two team coaches were also on the bus and were not injured, said a release.
The team was arriving in town to play a game against Lincoln-Sudbury.
This is an open investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, the Sudbury Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.
