Are you concerned about internet safety for your children? How good are your parental controls? Onyen Yong, Assistant District Attorney and Director of Information Technology for the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office will lead a presentation on Cyber Safety in the Home and Community. The internet, cell phones and social networking sites are powerful opportunities to gain knowledge and make contact with others, when used appropriately. However, there are many pitfalls and risks to young people. Participants will learn about online issues impacting youth such as social networking sites (e.g. Facebook), predators, and “sexting”. Effective prevention and intervention strategies for parents will be presented, and there will be an opportunity for questions.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
Sponsored by Sudbury Public Schools, Youth Empowerment and Support (YES), and Parent Education Sudbury (PES)
