Once Upon a Mattress is a hilarious tweaking of the fairy tale, "The Princess and the Pea". Queen Aggravain has ruled that no one may marry until her son, Prince Dauntless, marries. Through unfair and impossible tests, she manages to sabotage every hopeful princess …that is until Princess Winifred comes along, and the Queen discovers it is not so easy to rid the kingdom (and the Prince's heart) of "Fred".
