Food Allergy Workshop

GOT FOOD ALLERGIES?

You’re definitely not alone! Food allergies have been on the rise in recent years.

It’s challenging for parents to find the right recipes for their children.  It can feel stressful for parents when their children are at other houses, parties, summer camps or traveling. Children experience emotional impact as well, feeling somehow different from other children and are often limited to be in certain environments as a result of their allergy. Children may feel badly being separated out to eat alone at a Peanut Table at School and yet schools are trying to keep them safe.  Today children can face many multiple food allergies, too, which makes it even harder for them to eat comfortably with others.

It would be nice for them to know they’re not alone and that there can be great, easy solutions to food allergies.

YUM101, which runs Children’s Cooking Clubs in Sudbury, is having a workshop for Sudbury Families with food allergies. Some families are new to this journey and some more experienced. Come network! Parents and children are welcome to come together, share your successes and frustrations, learn about resources you can use, as well some recipe substitutions. Bring along a favorite recipe to share and we’ll try to put a cookbook together! We’ll also have fun cooking a few recipes together during the workshop!!

This educational and fun workshop will run Sat. Jan. 21st  from 11 am-12:30 pm
