When kids start to wonder about how their bodies change, puberty, relationships and sexual decision making, they usually want to turn to their parents or caregivers for answers. This free, interactive workshop will help prepare you to help them make the right choices. Learn about strategies you can use to respond to your children's hard-to-answer questions and techniques for discussing sexual health issues with skill, knowledge and comfort. Though geared for parents of 5 - 8th graders, parents of younger children can also benefit from this workshop, which will teach you how to go beyond "the talk.” Program will be facilitated by Amy Cody, an experienced community health educator providing sexuality education programming to youth in middle and high schools and at-risk youth in residential programs, as well as to professionals at the national and international level. Free book and resource packet for participants, so an rsvp is essential to make sure we have enough supplies on hand.
