The eighth Science Expo at Israel Loring Elementary School is being held on Wed., March 2, 2011 in the school's dining room (Grades K-2) and in the gymnasium (Grades 3-5).
Students in grades K through 5 voluntarily develop and conduct their own science experiments to share with classmates, teachers, families and friends. This year, "guest scientists" will be stopping by each project booth to ask the students questions about their respective projects to initiate conversation and give the students an opportunity to share discoveries and results of their experiments.
The Loring Science Expo was originally organized by parent Reva Klein as a way to give students an opportunity to explore and investigate various science topics and instill a love of learning and as a means for students use their imagination and creativity in their experiments.
