The Friends of Goodnow Library presents Cellist Nick Dinnerstein and Pianist Pei-Yeh Tsai on Sunday, February 6, at 3 pm in Goodnow Library’s Community Meeting Room. Light refreshments will be served.
The Boston-based duo promises to delight the audience with lyrical and classical music by:
• Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) – Piece en forme de Habanera
• Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) – Selections from Etudes tanguistiques (originally for flute/violin)
• Enrique Granados (1867-1916) – Spanish Dances, Op. 37, No. 5, “Andalusa”
• Cesar Franck (1822-1890) – Sonata in A (originally for violin)
Dinnerstein, an active recitalist and chamber musician, is a strong advocate for contemporary classical music. He is the cellist for several singer/songwriters and area bands, as well as an arranger/composer of cello parts for the Boston String quartet.
Pei-Yeh Tsai, a native of Taiwan, has won many solo and chamber music awards and competitions. Besides being an accompanist at Boston University over the past six years, she has also been a staff accompanist for the B. U. Tanglewood Institute Tuba and Trumpet workshops.
