Poetry Out Loud Regional Finals

Lovers of Poetry Unite! Come to the Poetry Out Loud Regional Finals on Wednesday, February 16th, from 7-9 pm at Bemis Hall in Lincoln.

Poetry Out Loud is a national poetry recitation contest for high school students. Sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation, the program encourages the nation's youth to experience great poetry while mastering public speaking skills, building self-confidence, and learning about their literary heritage.

The event will feature students from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School and some special guest performances.

Poetry Out Loud is the kick-off event for the LS PROJECT POETRY LIVE initiative, which will culminate later this spring with a series of workshops and performances by Slam Poet Taylor Mali, as well as various schoolwide projects celebrating the art of poetry.
