Sudbury Art Association Open Studios Weekend

The Sudbury Art Association has announced that the 2011 Open Studios Weekend will be held on the weekend of October 15th and 16th. All Sudbury artists and craftspeople are welcome and encouraged to participate.

This town-wide Open Studios event will feature the works of 30 or more artists from Sudbury and the public will be invited to view their work at public venues like and the Grange Hall, as well as in the artists’ own home studios throughout town.

The Sudbury Art Association now has 60 members and is welcoming any artists, craftspeople and individuals who live, work or show in Sudbury, to join the SAA. Embracing a variety of styles and media, SAA members include furniture makers, potters, sculptors, painters, jewelry makers, printmakers, photographers, clothing designers, mixed media artists and those who appreciate and support the arts. Members include professional artists and craftspeople, as well as very talented hobbyists.

Besides hosting the Open Studios Weekend, the Art Association is planning a number of juried shows, exhibits and social and educational events throughout the year. Any Sudbury artists interested in joining the Art Association are most welcome and can go to the website at www.sudburyart.org to complete a membership form.
