The Sudbury Historical Society, Inc. presents local author, Brian Plumb, at Town Hall on Sunday, Oct 7th, at 2:00 pm. He will be speaking on his new publication about one of our favorite subjects.
The book, "A History of Longfellow's Wayside Inn", is the culmination of many years of research in the Inn’s archives, the Sudbury and Marlborough Historical Societies, state records, public libraries, private collections, Ford’s Greenfield Village in Michigan, as well as, from interviews with neighbors,
employees, and other local Inn enthusiasts. Many of the pictures and stories have seldom been seen or heard of before.
Brian lives in nearby Hopkinton, where surprisingly there is also a strong How family connection. For the past twelve years, he has been a member of the Sudbury Ancient Fife and Drum Companie. He performs at the Inn every Wednesday evening and you have likely seen him marching in Sudbury's Memorial Day and July 4th parades.

Brian will offer a one hour slide presentation, talk about the book publishing process, answer any questions, and will have books for sale with half of the proceeds going to the preservation of the Wayside Inn! This will likely be the last chance to hear him speak, as he is already busy on his next book, Traphagen’s Tavern (the Beekman Arms) and the History of the Albany Post Road. If you love the Wayside Inn and would like to know more about it, this is a must-attend presentation! Also, great purchase for Christmas!
This can also be an opporunity to pre-order our next publication, ARCADIA'S "IMAGES OF AMERICA SUDBURY", which is also the subject of November's SHS program. Refreshments will be served! Sudbury Town Hall is located at the Concord Road crossing of Route 27 in Sudbury center.
