Sudbury Womans Club with Rebecca Chizzo & S.W.E.E.T.

The Sudbury Womans Club will feature Rebecca Chizzo, of Sudbury, founder of Sudbury Weed Education and Eradication Team (S.W.E.E.T.) on Thursday, Jan 19th speaking about invasive plants  which  are a major problem in Massachusetts.

Chizzo  is focusing on educating homeowners, to get people to pull and cut the weeds around their own property. "That’s a good place to start,’’ she said. "I think if homeowners don’t participate we’re going to lose the battle.’’

Chizzo  and SWEET have received support - mainly the use of equipment, plant identification and other guidance from the Sudbury Valley Trustees, U.S. Fish & Wildlife, the Sudbury Conservation Commission, and several Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High science teachers who persuaded students to help clear the weeds from town!
