Sundays at Goodnow

The Friends of Goodnow Library’s popular “Sunday Afternoons at Goodnow” series holds its next event on April 22 at 3:00 p.m. in the Library’s Community Meeting Room.  Foundation for Educators at Lincoln-Sudbury (FELS) grant recipient Alison Sanders-Fleming will present “The Geology of the Continental United States Through Our National Parks,” which charts her 2011 journey to visit several national parks and other public lands across the northern United States and southeastern Canada.  From the shores of Lake Champlain to the granite formations and hot springs at the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho, Ms. Sanders-Fleming camped, hiked and biked her way through a continental cross-section of the earth science which forms our country and this experience has greatly enriched her curriculum as a science teacher at LSRHS.  This engaging presentation will include photos, maps and diagrams, which will introduce and illustrate some of the complicated geology that has formed North America over the past 4 billion years.

Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Goodnow Library is located at 21 Concord Road, Sudbury MA.  For more information, call 978/443-1035 or go to http://www.town.sudbury.ma.us/departments/Library/.
