On Sunday September 26, regular worship at 10:00 AM is followed by ice cream sundae creations for all. Reverend Tom O'Brien welcomes everyone home to MCC for faith renewal and discovery. This week's lessons for both the children and the wider congregation are based on the story of Jeremiah's investment in land owned by his cousin from the Book of Jeremiah Chapter 32. Sunday school teachers in pre-school through 8th grade classes incorporate age-appropriate activities on the Whole People of God lesson 'Future Matters'. Rev. O'Brien tells the story of a 'Surprising Investment' to the congregation following Children's Sermon and Scripture reading.
Director of Music Cathy Meyer offers weekly organ prelude and postlude. The choral anthem is "It Is Well With My Soul", in an arrangement by John Beck.
Church school registration continues throughout September. Families interested in children's faith discovery may contact the church by phone to be directed to the Christian Education leadership.

Following the service, MCC opens Ames Hall to members and visitors for the annual Sundae Sunday celebration. The event is sponsored by the MCC Christian Education Committee as a special decadent version of the post-worship coffee and snack reception. Create your own ice cream sundae with all the ice cream and trimmings you love. Coffee, tea, cider, and juices accompany the glorious celebration of sweetness dietary abandon. Ruin your lunch with a delicious sundae. All are welcome!
