This Week At MCC: World Communion Sunday

On Sunday October 3 and throughout the week, MCC members and visitors will enjoy and be fulfilled by worship, music, youth group and fund-raising activities. The lessons for this week are from Lamentations Chapter 3 and Psalm 137.   Reverend Tom O'Brien's lesson for children is "Remembering Places" from the Lamentations story.  The scripture/sermon sequence is a series of reflections on the God's future.   Two new children of the church will be baptized.

Director of Music and Organist Cathy Meyer performs works by Johann Pachelbel: By Waterside in Babylon, and Lord God, We All to Thee Give Praise.  The High Seas Rock Band will lead the congregation in hymn of Reflection "Shout to the North" from the MCC Summer program High Seas Adventure.

MCC celebrates Holy Communion on the first Sunday each month. On October 3, World Communion Sunday, Christians throughout the world recognize the sacred ceremony of communion.  At MCC, children participate with their families on World Communion Sunday.  Cathy Meyer plays another version of By the Waters of Babylon by Billings/Lucas for the communion voluntaries.
