Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School Science teacher Maureen Bolton spent part of last summer studying and traveling in Ireland. Ms. Bolton will share highlights of her travels in an exciting presentation at Goodnow Library’s Community Meeting Room at 3pm on Sunday, February 13.
Ms. Bolton received a grant from Foundation for Educators at Lincoln-Sudbury (FELS) to study and travel in Ireland from June 30-July 24, 2010. Her studies were based at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
Ms. Bolton’s seminar work focused on music and folklore of Ireland, as well as on the Gaelic language. Ms. Bolton’s classes were interspersed with cultural tours to the Aran islands, Connemara, Yates' Tower in South Galway, and the Burren of Clare. She also traveled with her seminar to the Druid Theatre, Galway's Gaelic Theatre, archeological sites, and other historic attractions.
