3. CLASSES & LECTURES: Understanding adolescent brain development

Community Connections sponsors “Understanding Adolescent Brain Development,” an evening with Dr. Marisa M. Silveri, at 7:30 p.m. at the lecture hall. 

Dr. Silveri is a brain neuroscientist, assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, adjunct professor of psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine and the director of the Neurodevelopment Laboratory on Addictions and Mental Health in the Imaging Center at McLean Hospital.

The discussion will focus on the teen brain as it relates to decision-making, impulsive behavior, taking dangerous risks and alcohol and substance abuse.  It’s not always easy being the parent of a teenager, come get some tools to help navigate through this sometimes difficult time. Join us to get some of your questions answered.
