The Veterans Day Flag Retirement Ceremony, sponsored by the Sudbury Girl Scouts Service Unit, takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 191 at 676 Boston Post Road.

Starting behind the legion’s hall at 1 p.m., the public is welcome to bring any unserviceable United States flags to be retired. Veterans Day activities, such as learning stations for scouts and students, poems, songs, and a flag ceremony, follow. Refreshments are served, as well.

Participants are asked to consider bringing sundry items such as soap, shampoo, disposable razors and lotion, or cards, to send to troops and veterans.
