Give Kids the Gift of Camp! - Early bird discount for Camp Thoreau now through 12/31/13

Campers gain a sense of community and character at Camp Thoreau.

“To prepare tomorrow’s adults with the competencies to tackle changes in our world, we need to give kids an opportunity to practice these skills in a caring and supportive environment,” notes Faith Pulis, President of Camp Thoreau. “At Camp Thoreau campers meaningfully engage in a camp community where they can relate, connect, empathize, have fun and are inspired to be innovative. These are the skills that will give our youth the ability to make a positive difference, and lead happy lives.”

This year, we’re introducing even more exciting skill building opportunities with Thoreau Outdoor Adventure Camp (TOA). A perfect match for campers entering 4th-9th grades, TOA is an alternative to sleep-away camp. Campers will explore the woods, waters and rocks of New England by combining activities such as camping, backpacking, rock climbing, sea kayaking and white water rafting. Campers will participate in trip planning and preparation, team building initiatives and multi-day trips each week to destinations including: Mt. Monadnock, the White Mountains, Acadia National Park and more.
