Herb Chambers Cars and Coffee Event Held Saturday

Car enthusiasts share coffee and stories at early-morning event at BMW of Sudbury.

Local car enthusiasts turned out in force early Saturday morning for a special "Cars and Coffee" event at BMW of Sudbury, hosted by Herb Chambers.

Starting at 7 a.m., a variety of hot rods, antiques, and pristine sports cars rolled onto the lot. Proud owners and wanna-be owners alike admired sparkling engines and painstaking renovation jobs, all against the backdrop of a perfect fall morning.

Among the attendees were members of the Dominators Club, a long-standing hot rod enthusiasts group established in Watertown in 1957.

When asked what brought them out so early, member Bob Gamache laughed and said, "These guys," indicating a jovial band of fellow Dominators.

"Some people own just one, but I get to have a whole collection!" joked Rodney Carkin Sr., a photographer who specializes in pictures of classic vehicles.
