Historic District Commission Discusses Rail Trail Through Depot Lot

The Historic District Commission is holding a public hearing.

The Wayland Historic District Commission is holding a public hearing regarding the building of a rail trail route through or around the Depot parking lot at 1 Cochituate Road.

The public is encouraged to attend and make comments.

The issue is on the commission’s agenda for its Thursday, Sept. 17, meeting, which starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Wayland Town Building.

“We are going to discuss the options for the rail trail path by the Wayland Depot,” said Larry Kiernan of Friends of the Wayland Rail Trail. “The space around the Depot serves many purposes in addition to the rail trail Wayland plans to have a Rail Road Interpretive Site here. Now that the town has approved funding for the trail, we can apply resources to determine the best route for Wayland.”
