Hordes Of Shoppers Flock To Sudbury Whole Foods Grand Opening

SUDBURY, MA—Whole Foods Market opened the doors of its newest store in Sudbury on Saturday and a long line of eager shoppers waited to get in.
Located at the new Meadow Walk development at 546 Boston Post Road, the home of the former Raytheon building, the store is 45,000 square feet. The market currently employs about 130 people, and serves as a replacement for the closed Whole Foods in neighboring Wayland.

“Whole Foods Market has been a part of this community for a long time,” said Store Team Leader John Forziati in a statement. “I could not be more excited to finally be able to give our shoppers the store that truly meets their needs. It has been a long time coming.”

According to the announcement, Whole Foods Market Sudbury was designed to give shoppers a comprehensive grocery shopping experience highlighted by restaurant quality dining options for convenience, while creating a gathering space for the community to enjoy and celebrate good food.

The market features chef-run prepared foods, and also partnered with Genji Sushi, and two new in-store restaurants called PRESSED and Clover Food Lab. As an example of "treats" at the market, Whole Foods has self-serve mochi, macaron bars, bulk candy and made-in-the-store doughnuts.
The Aqua ViTEA Kombuch + Ripe is cold pressed juice on tap, and the Allegro Cafe coffee bar serves up iced and hot coffee, espresso and tea selection.

All of the foods can be taken home, or enjoyed in the store, which has complimentary Wi-Fi.
Additional culinary highlights of Whole Foods Market Sudbury include seasonal antipasti bar recipes, Bully Boy whiskey dry aged ribeye steak, fresh pasta selections, and more than tenv arieties of in-house scratch made breads and focaccias from the store’s bread bakery, said the press release.
Bountiful produce, specialty, meat, seafood, grocery, bakery and Whole Body departments round out the experience.
