I am proud to announce my candidacy for Goodnow Library Trustee. My husband, Dave, and I feel lucky to have found Sudbury as the place to raise our family. Our boys love Peter Noyes Elementary, and we are thankful for the beautiful natural surroundings and the strong values of the community.

I love the Goodnow Library and believe that it is a true community gathering place. I look forward to combining my experience with town finance and fundraising to advocate for moving forward with the Library's strategic plans. Over the past several years, whether it's serving on a town committee or coaching my son' hockey team, I have met and worked with so many amazing Sudbury-ians, and I can't wait to learn and do more for our town.

The last couple of years have been a forcing function to really evaluate my priorities and passions. During the height of the pandemic, I had the opportunity to work with a friend and start up an online book sale for the used books that people donate to the Library. Much of the startup work was organizing books and developing the online store and inventory process. We could do this work in an isolated back room of the library and at home during times when the kids were occupied (or asleep!). With all the chaos going on in the world, it is invigorating to work with a small team and to accomplish this type of community service.

This volunteer work for the Goodnow reminded me how much I love the library. I see Goodnow as a community hub and a place to connect with people and learn and discover new things. I see how Goodnow offers something for all ages and all abilities, including book clubs about True Crime and Cookbooks, as well as activities like Lego building and laser cutting workshops. Goodnow brings the community together, and I want to serve as a Trustee in order to help Goodnow continue its critical town function. I hope to use my background with town finance and community organizing to help the Goodnow meet and exceed their strategic goals. We’re Good NOW, but let’s be Better TOMORROW!
