L-S High Investigates 'Going to Shoot Someone' Student Rumor

The superintendent sent a letter to parents of students at L-S High School informing them of a rumor of a planned shooting.

A letter was sent to Lincoln-Sudbury High School families on Thursday morning regarding a rumor of a possible planned shooting at the school.

Superintendent of Schools Bella Wong wrote to families, “I am writing to make you aware that members of the Admin team were told of a rumor circulating among students last evening. The rumor stated a student was going to shoot someone at school.”

Wong said in the message that the rumor was investigated and “found it to be not credible.” Police were informed of the rumor and the results of the investigation.

“We are continuing to seek information about how the rumor began,” Wong wrote.” If you hear any information please immediately refer it to ANY housemaster and he or she will follow up with the source.”

“We have spoken with the student who was alluded to in the rumor and family,” Superintendent Wong told Sudbury Patch. “We have determined the content of the rumor is not a credible threat. However, making such an allegation is a very serious matter. We are focused on how such a rumor began.”
