L-S School Committee Begins Search for Interim Superintendent
Scott Carpenter accepted an offer this week to be the Monomoy Regional School District superintendent.

The Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School Committee announced Thursday is has begun a search for an interim superintendent/principal for the district after current head Scott Carpenter accepted the superintendent post for Monomoy Regional School District this week.
"(Thursday) morning, the Committee formally commenced a search for an Interim Superintendent/Principal for the District," Chair Nancy Marshall said in a release. "The Committee plans to initiate a search for a permanent hire in the fall, when a broader slate of candidates will be available. The job posting will be available on the LSRHS website, as well as that of the Massachusetts School Superintendents (MASS), Regional Schools (MARS) and School Committees (MASC) websites."
Carpenter was the unanimous choice of the Monomoy Regional School Committee to be appointed its first superintendent on July 1. That agreement is still pending the negotiation of a contract.

"The L-S School Committee wishes to congratulate Scott and express its appreciation for his work on behalf of the District during the last four years," Marshall said. "During Scott’s tenure, the District has faced a period of fiscal challenges and lengthy contract negotiations. The Committee is grateful for how Scott rigorously and fairly addressed those challenges on behalf of our students."
Earlier this year, Carpenter was a finalist for the same position in Harvard.

He withdrew his consideration after the other two finalists bowed out and the Harvard school committee opted to reopen the search.
The Committee will further discuss its plans at its next regular meeting Tuesday, April 9, 7.30pm in Conference Room B at LSRHS.
