L-S Students Shine at MIT Science Competition
'A' team places second in the National Ocean Sciences Bowl.

Two teams from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School recently competed at MIT on March 3 in the regional tournament of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (the "Blue Lobster Bowl").
The L-S "A" Team took second place among 16 teams competing.
The "B" team of sophomores was ninth.

The L-S National Ocean Sciences Bowl team is coached by B.J. Pegram with an assistance at the tournament from Anita Honkonen.

A Team: Bryan Richman, Captain Austin Brown, Elena Busch, Emily Liang and Jessie Wong;
B Team: Peter Finnegan, Captain Grace Caltabiano, Michael Dawson, Greg Howard and Alex Ghorishi.
The National Ocean Sciences Bowl is a national, high school science competition sponsored by the National Oceanographic Partnership Program and uses a quiz-bowl format, with lockout buzzers and extended team challenge questions to test students on their knowledge of oceanography which includes the subjects of biology, chemistry, geology, geography, social science, technology, and physics.
