Man Faces 9th OUI Charge, Driving Recklessly With Child, After Stop In Lincoln

Police pulled a driver over in Lincoln, and the man is facing multiple charges, including his ninth drinking and driving offense.

LINCOLN, MA — A Dorchester man is facing his ninth drinking and driving offense after police pulled him over in Lincoln, his child in the back seat without a seatbelt.

Victor Rosa, 61 of Dorchester, was arraigned in Concord District Court Monday on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, child endangerment while operating under the influence, operating a motor vehicle after suspension of license for operating under the influence, operating a motor vehicle while drinking alcohol from an open container, a marked lanes violation and a child seatbelt violation.

Judge Ernest Sarason, Jr. ordered the defendant held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Friday, Feb. 3.

Belmont police pulled Rosa over on Saturday, Jan. 28, when they spotted him driving erratically and crossing over the marked lines in the road, and allegedly hitting a Belmont officer's police cruiser. Lincoln police assisted with the arrest.

Police said Rosa, whose license had been revoked, had glassy, bloodshot eyes, and saw that a minor was sitting in the back seat. Police also found several open and closed containers of alcohol, including beer cans and nips.

Rosa has eight previous operating under the influence convictions in both Middlesex and Suffolk Counties.
