Man Said He Had Gun, Flees with Nikes from Store: Police

Sudbury police are investigating a shoplifting at Olympia Sports where a man purported to have a gun and then ran with a pair of sneakers.

SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury police are searching for a man they said ran from a store with a pair of Nike sneakers after claiming he had a gun.

On April 11 around 3:13 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at 425 Boston Post Road, Olympia Sports. The employee said he had been watching a subject he believed was attempting to steal sneakers from the premises. '

When the employee confronted the man, the suspect purported to have a gun and then fled the store with a pair of Nike sneakers, said police.

The incident remains under investigation and video surveillance from the area is being reviewed. The suspect was described as a black male in his mid to late twenties with a stocky build and light scruff. No weapon was shown, but the suspect indicated he had one.
