Marlborough Woman Charged With 3rd OUI Offense in Sudbury

The following arrest information was supplied by the Sudbury Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A motor vehicle stop by the Sudbury Police Department on March 15 at the intersection of Union Avenue and Boston Post Road resulted in the arrest of a Marlborough woman.

According to Lt. Scott Nix, an officer on patrol who was monitoring traffic on Union Avenue heard screeching tires and observed a white SUV exiting Station Road on to Union Avenue toward his location.

"A motor vehicle stop was initiated at the Mobil station and the officer contacted the operator about the tires," Nix said. "The operator said, 'I have new tires and I was trying them out.'"

After the officer completed an investigation, the operator, Linda Elaine Haile, 49, of 849 Boston Post Road, Apt. 4H, was arrested and charged with:

  • Harsh and objectionable noise (the screeching tires);
  • Operating under the influence of alcohol (third offense);
  • Operating under the influence of alcohol with a suspended license for operating under the influence of alcohol.

Haile was released at 1:02 a.m. on March 16 and was scheduled to be arraigned at Framingham District Court on March 18.
