Mosquito Pesticide Spraying Starts In Sudbury
Watch for helicopters delivering anti-mosquito pesticides starting on Wednesday in Sudbury.
SUDBURY, MA — You might notice helicopters flying low over Sudbury beginning on Wednesday. That's because the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project is conducting seasonal mosquito control through May 8.
The helicopters will be applying a pesticide called Bti over wetlands. Bti delivers a type of bacteria that destroys the larvae of mosquitoes, black flies, and fungus gnats, and is not harmful to humans, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
