Natick Joins For MLK, Jr., Celebration and Event

"For the whole family, standing up together for inclusion and justice."

NATICK, MA — Organizers of Spark Kindness are inviting all to stand up together for inclusion and justice.

The Natick School Department and the Interfaith Clergy Association of Natick are welcoming all to the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Annual Natick Community Celebration & Family Volunteering & Welcoming Event on Monday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. at Wilson Middle School.

The keynote speaker is civil rights volunteer/organizer Jim Kates, who worked as a college student in the "Freedom Summer of 1964" registering African American voters in Mississippi. His message is that "ordinary people can do extraordinary things if they work together."

Natick is United issues a joint statement about standing together and standing up for each other against hatred and discrimination.

The event is co-sponsored by the Natick Public Schools, Natick Interfaith Clergy, Natick METCO program, Natick Together for Youth, Catching Joy and SPARK Kindness.
