OBITUARY: Janice Theresa MacKinnon, Family Ran Sudbury Market
Janice Theresa MacKinnon, 84, died on Jan. 20. Services are Monday.

Janice Theresa MacKinnon of Sudbury died Tuesday, January 20, 2014 at Oak Noll Healthcare Center in Framingham following a period of declining health. She was 84 and the wife of the late John S. MacKinnon. Born in Framingham July 24, 1930, she was the daughter
Of the late Alvah J. and Celia Mansfield Rice and was raised and educated in Ashland.
After marriage, she and her husband settled in Sudbury and she joined the operation of the family business, Sudbury Supermarket, which later became Mackinnon’s Liquor Store. Later in life, Janice enjoyed volunteer work at the Sudbury Food Pantry where she developed many new friends. She liked reading and especially was fond of her her time at the MetroWest Medical Center/Framingham Union Hospital where she served as a “Pink Lady” who greatly enjoyed delivering flowers to new mothers in the maternity ward.

She leaves her children: Susan Skokowski and her husband, Carl, of Chicago; Michael MacKinnon and his wife, Janice, of Framingham; Patrice Evangelous and her husband, Thomas, of Marlboro; Jane Lirette and her husband, Paul, of Northborough; and her daughter in law, Laurel MacKinnon, of Sudbury. She was also the mother of the late John S. MacKinnon, Jr. and the sister of the late Louise Collins, Josephine Hawkins and William Rice. Additional survivors are her 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26, from the Duckett-J. S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road, Rt. 20, Sudbury at 9:00 am followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 160 Concord Road, Sudbury at 10:00 o’clock. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Interment will take place in Old Town Cemetery, Sudbury Center. Memorial donations should be directed to Framingham Heart Study,
