The Poo's in the Mail: Residents Find Animal Feces, Cat and Dog Food, in Mailboxes

Some say it's no surprise around graduation time. But neighborhoods' mailboxes in Sudbury were hit recently in some areas of the town.

SUDBURY, MA—Some residents in town are a little upset that they've recently opened their mailboxes to more than bills or junkmail. They did receive packages, but unwanted and of the smelly persuasion.

Sudbury police have gotten calls, one from the town's postmaster, that residents have found cat or dog food, as well as dog feces, in their mailboxes, said Police Chief Scott Nix.

Nix said the mailboxes that were hit were on the west side of town, including Washington Drive, Lafayette Drive and Peakham Drive.

"People are concerned about the possibility of missing mail," said Chief Nix, who confirmed that the department is monitoring the situation, and anyone with information should call 978-443-1042.
