Revolabs Expands to 34,000 Square Feet in Sudbury
Audio solutions firm occupies more than 50 percent of 144 North Road building

Revolabs has taken an additional 10,800 square feet of space at Cummings Properties’ 144 North Road building in Sudbury. This significant expansion is its second in five years. With 34,000 square feet in total, the firm now has a presence on all three floors and occupies more than half of the building.
According to JP Carney, co-founder and CEO of Revolabs, the expansion was prompted by tremendous growth in recent years due to the creation of new products. The firm provides wired and wireless audio solutions, including microphone and teleconferencing systems, for a variety of applications, from webcasts and video conferencing to podcasts and broadcasting.
“As we look out over the next three to five years, we expect to keep growing, so we needed to expand our space to accommodate our needs,” said Carney. “Cummings Properties has worked with us to implement the expansion in phases so as not to interrupt our business.”

Revolabs currently employs 115 people, and plans to grow that number by between 15 and 20 percent over the next 18 months.
Centrally located on Route 117, Revolabs’ headquarters is mostly office space with some laboratory testing facilities. The first phase of the expansion was completed in October, with the balance scheduled for completion in January 2016, according to Cummings Properties account manager Tony Spencer.

“Our extensive portfolio allows us to help our clients to expand in place quickly and efficiently,” said Spencer. “We are delighted to be able to support Revolabs’ recent and future growth.”
In March 2014, Revolabs became a fully owned subsidiary of Japan-based Yamaha Corporation, the world’s largest manufacturer of musical instruments. It is part of Yamaha’s Sound and Network Division.
Revolabs’ UC1500 phone won “Best of Show” for AV Technology at InfoComm 2015. This VOIP/USB conference phone has extension microphones for better pickup range in a large area. It has a dual-element speaker like all products in the UC line, and six microphones so the near and far ends can “hear every word,” according to Carney.
Cummings Properties’ 10 million square feet of prime space accommodates offices, healthcare facilities, laboratories, retail storefronts, warehouses, co-working spaces, executive suites, and more. With a portfolio of this size and variety, the firm can meet almost any commercial real estate need from 150 square feet to 300,000 square feet. Its in-house experts in design, construction, and property management offer “one-stop shopping” for leasing clients.
