Detours: MassDOT Closing Bridge Over Assabet River This Week
The full bridge closures will happen Wednesday to Friday with a long detour route through Hudson.

STOW, MA — MassDOT will close the one-lane Route 62 bridge over the Assabet River during overnight hours this week, forcing drivers on a long detour around the span.
The Route 62/Gleasondale Road bridge closure will start Wednesday night and last through Friday morning. Each closure will last from about 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day, according to MassDOT. The road will be closed between Sudbury Road and Marlborough Road.
Many local drivers are familiar with the Route 62 bridge, which MassDOT reduced to one lane in 2015 after an inspection found the bridge was "deteriorating."

This week's work is part of a larger project to restore the bridge to two lanes. During this week's work, crews will be installing new beams to support the new Route 62 bridge.
A detour around the bridge closure will take drivers west into downtown Hudson and along Tower Street, Old Stow Road, Hudson Road and Randall Road.
