Selectmen Offer Condolences to Ronner Family

The Town of Sudbury is reaching out to Jeffrey Ronner and his family after the death of his son, Lance Corporal Michael Ronner.

On Thursday, the Board of Selectmen issued a release on the town's website, offering condolences over death of the 23-year-old native.

"On behalf of the Town of Sudbury, the Board of Selectmen extends its deepest condolences to the family of Lance Corporal Michael Ronner, a 2007 graduate from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School," the release reads.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

According to Patty Houpt, founder of the Sudbury Military Support Network, Ronner's body is expected to arrive from California between Saturday and Monday. A service will happen next week at , although the date has yet to be determined.

"We will be looking for food donations for the collation in the church hall following the service," Houpt said in an email forwarded to Sudbury Patch. "It will be a military funeral, and burial will be in Town Center."

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family," the Selectmen said in their release. "We’ve let Michael’s family know that if there is anything that the Town can do to support them during this heart-breaking time, we are available to assist them."

Michael Ronner was found dead on base at Camp Pendleton Monday morning.

Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents are treating the death as a suicide, the North County Times reports.
