Self-Defense Class Offered to Women Living in Sudbury and Lincoln

Police and DVSN have teamed up to offer a free self-defense two-day class.

SUDBURY, MA — The Lincoln Police collaborated with Domestic Violence Services Network (DVSN) to offer a RESIST self-defense class for all young women living in Lincoln or Sudbury.

The goal of the course is to learn how to escape from an attacker by using instinct-based moves, said Lincoln police.

The two-day class takes place on March 14 and 16 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School.

Day 1: talk about general safety & dating safety before learning and then practicing physical self-defense moves like strikes, blocks, and knee strikes.

Day 2: students and instructors don protective gear, and participants will be "attacked" using learned moves to escape. This part of the course is intense but amazing and empowering.
