“I never thought I could climb a rope or jump over a 6 foot wall, but after the training and accomplishing my first Spartan race at Fenway park, I am addicted” says Debbie Johnson Impact member and SGX client.

“I have always worked hard in my training, but this brought my level of fitness to a whole new stage. My mental toughness and grit has never been stronger, I owe it all to Impact Spartan SGX training” says Cheryl Boland, Impact member and SGX client.

Spartan SGX is the official training program of Spartan Race. With its focus on functional body weight exercises, the program is intended to prepare anyone for an obstacle race, or just to improve overall fitness. Spartan SGX is distinguished by its “periodized” programming and holistic approach to improved health, which takes into account people’s behavior outside of the gym and builds mental, as well as physical, resilience and strength.

Spartan defines “periodization” as “planned variation in volume, intensity and exercise specificity.” In simple terms, a periodized program has a pre-determined plan behind it intended to lead to steady improvements in physical performance. The program has spread worldwide since the first certification workshop, in 2012.

Impact Functional Sports Training is in complete synch with Spartan Race’s philosophy and values. In a world that is struggling to find accountability, consistency and mental grit, Impact and Spartan SGX bring together a training system that expands on both.

Anyone is welcome to join a free trial of the new obstacle training class and are encouraged to sign up for the upcoming programs Impact is offering. Youth to Adults are welcome and registration for their February preseason training programs are going on now.

Impact Functional and Sports Training offers spinning, top level fitness coaching, high-level group classes, a 100% natural crushed fruit smoothie bar and the area’s only Spartan SGX training.
