Special Town Election For New Selectman, Prop 2 1/2 Article

Sudbury will have a special town election on May 9.

SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury voters will vote on two warrant articles in a Special Town Election to be held on Tuesday, May 9.

The meeting is being called by the Board of Selectmen for the purpose of placing a Proposition 2 1/2 ballot question on the warrant, and also to fill a selectman position vacancy created by the resignation of Charles Woodard. That resignation is effective April 12.

The term of office for this position will be one year, expiring upon the dissolution of the 2018 Annual Town Meeting. Nomination Papers and Candidate Packets are available at the Town Clerk’s Office staruting Monday, March 6.

Candidates must file their intentions at the Town Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 17 and return their nomination papers by 5 PM on Tuesday, March 21. The deadline for a candidate to withdraw from the election is Thursday, April 6.
