"Despite COVID, cancer hasn’t stopped. But, fundraising for the American Cancer Society and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), has sharply declined as a result of the pandemic. Locally, we’re hoping to change that.
In September, volunteers for ACS CAN, the advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society, will be hosting a local “Lights of Hope Across America” display to honor cancer patients and survivors. Their offices are in Framingham, and the display will take place in Sudbury and throughout the local community.

The Herting family are Sudbury residents and are halfway to achieving their goal of raising $5,000 for this event. They have sponsorship opportunities available for Sudbury Businesses, to help support the charity's mission, and have some great promotional/marketing benefits to go along with sponsorship.

About the Event
On September 12th, 2020 the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) will host its 10th annual Lights of Hope event. This year will be truly special as we host Lights of Hope Across America. Each light of hope honors loved ones who have survived cancer and remembers those we’ve lost. The displays in communities from coast to coast will send a clear and impactful message to lawmakers that fighting cancer must be a national priority – from increasing funding for lifesaving cancer research to ensuring that all Americans in all communities have access to quality, affordable cancer care.
This year’s event will culminate in a special ceremony on September 12 that will be live-streamed through Facebook and the ACS CAN website. This one-of-a-kind virtual event will also provide participants with opportunities to contact their members of Congress and share their at-home displays on social media and with fellow participants. Here in Sudbury, there will be luminaria display at homes and local businesses for the community to view on September 12, and we’re hoping you’ll help!
