SPS Mum on Consulting Hire at Nixon Elementary
Residents, parents wanting further information will need to submit a written request.

Sudbury Public Schools has hired consultants for all of its schools this current school year. But that's as much as Director Of Business/Finance Mary Will is able to say.
Will was asked specifically about the hire of a consultant at Nixon Elementary School who was supposed to aid Principal Joni Jay, but said she couldn't go into specifics.
"We've hired consultants for professional development of staff and administration, and also for students with issues who special help," she said. "Beyond that I can't say more. All I know for sure is someone was hired for professional development at Nixon."

Will said if residents or parents want further information it would have to come as a written request.
"Then we'll deal with it," she said.

Resident Scott Nassa, who is a candidate for Sudbury Public Schools Committee, said the lack of transparency is disturbing.
"If it's true, I would want to know why there was a hire like this," he said. "We should be determining if we have the right managers in place. I think parents at Nixon and the tax payers have a right to know."
