SPS Students Doing Well Week After Boston Marathon Bombings

Superintendent Anne Wilson visited students Monday, the first day back after April vacation.

Sudbury Public Schools Superintendent Anne Wilson opened Tuesday night's meeting with a brief report on how students were faring a week after the attack at the Boston Marathon, and she had positive observations to share.

Wilson emailed information with parents during the April vacation week on how to help their students cope with the tragedy.

On Monday, the first day back for students and staff, Wilson visited the district and said everyone seemed to be happy to be back in their classrooms.

"We have plans in place to monitor students," Wilson said. "We're focused on routines for a stable learning environment. On Monday, students engaged in normal activity. They were happy to be back in school."

Wilson praised the teachers and administration for their efforts in supporting the students.

"I can’t say enough about the wonderful staff who provide safety and support for the students," she said. "I'm eternally grateful."
