Sudbury Art Association Holds Opening Show
Sudbury companies and residents pool resources and pull off an impressive layout.
Painting, sculpture, furniture, pottery, drawings, jewelry and more are on view this month as part of the Sudbury Art Association All-Members Art Show.
Featuring works from as many as 50 SAA members, who all live in Sudbury, the show is rich in its offerings - and free. The SAA held an opening night celebration last week to kick off the month.
The show is taking place in the location formerly housed by Thunder Sports in the Sudbury Plaza. Gravestar Inc. donated the space to SAA for the month of September.

Many other businesses in Sudbury have also made contributions to support the event, including Shaws Supermarket and Sudbury Rug Company.
This is the second annual All-Members Art Show, with the first taking place last October at Goodnow Library, shortly after the association was founded by David Levington. Last year's show recorded 1,000 visitors, and this year's show is almost sure to surpass that figure, with well over 100 visitors at the opening night.

SAA is a group of Sudbury residents who all support the visual arts. Members need not be artists, although many are.
This show is a preview for the SAA Open Studios weekend (Oct. 15 and 16), during which artists welcome the public to view their art on display at Town Hall, Grange Hall, and in their home studios.
