Sudbury Community Food Pantry Seeks Executive Director

The Sudbury Community Food Pantry (SCFP) is looking for a new Executive Director since after many years of dedicated leadership Pat Mullen has retired from that position.

The SCFP, created in March 1990, is a 100% volunteer organization, staffed by approximately 100 dedicated individuals, open to clients Tuesday & Thursday afternoons and assisting approximately 65-75 families weekly, in a very client-friendly environment. The Executive Director position is similarly part-time and voluntary with flexible hours.

The Executive Director is the key administrative leader, responsible for overseeing organizational administration, volunteer engagement, community partnerships, and some day-to-day operations. You will work closely with its Board of Directors and many dedicated volunteers to ensure the ongoing viability and high quality of volunteerism and client satisfaction of our organization.

Responsibilities may include:

Daily Operations and Volunteer Management – as well as a willingness to assist where if/as needed. Tasks also include ongoing communications with volunteers, donors, partner agencies, and online contacts/emails.

Recruitment of Volunteers

Financial Performance and Viability – together with the Treasurer and Board, responsible for the fiscal integrity and management of SCFP. You will also be responsible for generating a year-end annual report for donors & volunteers.

Compliance Adherence - ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance with local entities, USDA, Greater Boston Food Bank, and other partners.

Primary Spokesperson in maintaining and forging relationships with Sudbury clergy, schools, banks, local businesses, as needed. Oversee public relations with print and social media.

Facilities Management – including limited physical maintenance and landlord relations.

Participation in strategic planning and implementation, with support of the Board of Directors and other volunteers.

Professional Qualifications

· Good people skills and a strong commitment to the vision and mission of SCFP

· Five or more years of management experience, preferred

· Familiarity with the Town of Sudbury and neighboring communities preferred

· Strong leadership and organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation

· Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and volunteers.
