Sudbury Foundation Gives $143K To Local Charities, Programs
A recent round of grants went to support everything from the Sudbury Community Food Pantry to the town fire department.

SUDBURY, MA — The Sudbury Foundation has announced its first round of grants in 2022, funding everything from a power stretcher for the fire department to the Drumlin Farm sanctuary.

The Sudbury Foundation this week announced that it has awarded $143,000 to ten local nonprofits in its first round of granting for 2022.

“The Sudbury Foundation is proud to fund and partner with these impressive organizations. This first round of grants for 2022 provides broad support for nonprofits based in Sudbury as well as targeted support for local hunger relief organizations,” said Sudbury Foundation Executive Director, Sonia Shah.

- Gifts of Hope Unlimited, $7,000: To help provide financial support for Sudbury families in need.
- Save A Dog, Inc., $5,000: To support the teen volunteer program.
- SMILE Mass, Inc., $25,000: To support the Club SMILE Mass program which provides hybrid after-school services to children and adults with severe disabilities.
- Sudbury Cooperative Preschool, $15,000: To support a Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Initiative.
- Sudbury Historical Society, $40,000: To assist in engaging with an archivist to catalog its collections, update their database, and train volunteers on best practices.
- Town of Sudbury, $21,000: To purchase a power stretcher for the Fire Department's third ambulance.

- Aurelia’s Garden: $2,500
- Drumlin Farm (A Sanctuary of the Massachusetts Audubon Society): $2,500
- Gaining Ground, Inc.: $15,000
- Sudbury Community Food Pantry: $10,000
The Sudbury Foundation is a private foundation working to transform lives and strengthen communities through grantmaking and scholarship programs in Sudbury, MA and surrounding communities. In 2021, the Foundation distributed $1.6 million in grants and scholarships to students and organizations in Sudbury, to organizations in communities surrounding Sudbury focused on Children, Youth and Families, and to organizations throughout the state of MA engaged in Farm and Local Food initiatives.
