The Massachusetts Science Poetry Contest is for grades kindergarten through eight and has drawn thousands of entries from Bay State school children over the past 23 years. The purpose behind this contest is to encourage students to fuse their knowledge of the world of science with their writing skills and creativity.
Contest entries display children’s curiosity and creativity and provide a window into the process of students' cognition covering such topics as photosynthesis, rainbows, and the life cycle of the butterfly.
